AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn will play Alabama State during the 2018 football season to extend the school's commitment to playing all current FCS schools in the state.
Auburn will have played all of the state's FCS schools, the old Division I-AA, during the five-year period from 2014-18, keeping some of the non-conference games within the state. It will be the first-ever meeting between Auburn and Alabama State, and it will be played Nov. 17, 2018 in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
Across the state, Auburn is playing Jacksonville State this season and Alabama A&M in 2016. The Tigers played Samford last season and Alabama A&M in 2012.
