Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team opened game-week preparations for the 2010 season opener with an 80-minute practice in cool temperatures that hovered in the low 70's Sunday evening.
The Tigers' offensive and defensive units worked against the scout teams and mixed in positional and special teams drills during the Sunday practice session.
"We had a really good practice tonight," head coach Gene Chizik said. "I thought it was really up-tempo. We had a lot of energy, which we should have since we gave them a little rest over the weekend."
Auburn's Sunday practice was the team's first since Thursday. The Tigers had a walk-thru Friday before being given the day off on Saturday.
The Tigers will take their customary in-season day off on Monday before returning to the practice fields Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers open the 2010 season in Jordan-Hare Stadium Sept. 4 against Arkansas State. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
A limited number of season, mini-season and single-game tickets are still available. For more information, please visit www.auburntigers.com or call 1-800-AUB-1957.
