The No. 10/11 Auburn football team worked out for the final time prior to the 2008 season opener against Louisiana-Monroe with a practice that lasted about an hour and a half Thursday morning at the practice fields behind the Athletics Complex.
Practicing in shells under sunny skies and warmer temperatures, the Tigers spent the first portion of practice working on special teams, before using most of the rest of the practice to work against the scout teams.
"It was probably the hottest and most humid day we've had since the first week in August," said head coach Tommy Tuberville. "I think it was an eye opener for our players to go out in that, and we went pretty good. We went about an hour and a half and just finished up some things we've been having problems with, and we're still working on communication. We're ready to play. We need to play a game to see where we're at."
Auburn will have a walk-through on Friday to conclude the preseason schedule before Saturday's game.
