Auburn Football Practice Report
Aug. 25, 2009
Auburn, Ala. - The Auburn Tigers spent just under two hours on the football practice fields Tuesday afternoon as they continued preparations for the 2009 season opener against Louisiana Tech. The Tigers took Monday off and practiced in full pads during Tuesday's session. With 11 days until the season opener, head coach Gene Chizik said the Tigers have begun to work more on the game plan for Louisiana Tech. "I thought we practiced well today," Chizik said. "We're trying to refine a lot of things and put more work towards Louisiana Tech. We've got a long way to go, but I feel like we made some progress today." Chizik noted the Tigers have already begun using the scout team to emulate Louisiana Tech in practice. "We're to the point now where we are trying to create certain looks that we might see," Chizik said. "We spent part of the day going against each other, just trying to keep a fast mentality going. We've still got enough to work on and try to fix that we can't go full out on Louisiana Tech just yet." Auburn and Louisiana Tech open the 2009 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT and the game will be carried by ESPNU. The Tigers practice again Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. behind the Auburn Athletic Complex. All practices are closed to the public.
