Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team practiced for just under two hours Tuesday evening behind the Athletics Complex in the last full week of August.
For the first time this season, the Tigers participated in team work against the scout teams to begin preparation for their season opener against Arkansas State.
Head Coach Gene Chizik described today's practice as a little sluggish at times, but noted the Tigers still made progress on their game plan for the Sept. 4 season opener.
"Today was a decent practice," Chizik said. "It was the first time we were split into scout team looks. I think overall the focus was there and we got things out of practice that we needed to."
Chizik said the Tigers will look to improve the temp at Wednesday's practice.
"We need to be much sharper tomorrow," Chizik stated. "We've got to pick up the tempo all the way around. Everybody was in new spots, new places, a little bit today. But, that comes with the territory."
The Tigers open the 2010 season in Jordan-Hare Stadium Sept. 4 against Arkansas State. The game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
A limited number of season, mini-season and single-game tickets are still available. For more information, please visit www.auburntigers.com or call 1-800-AUB-1957.
