Auburn, Ala. -
The Auburn football team continued its preparation for next Saturday's season opener with a 90-minute practice Wednesday on the fields behind the Athletic Complex.
Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville came away generally pleased with Wednesday's practice session, noting the Tigers' are adjusting to practicing against the scout team instead of one another.
"We've got our scout teams going today and that worked pretty well," Tuberville noted. "We need a lot of work on both sides of the ball going against the scouts and what another team will do. We picked things up a little bit after the sun went down and it cooled off a little."
Tuberville said the Tigers will be physically and mentally tested with an early practice Thursday morning.
"We'll have a quick turn around and go in the morning," Tuberville said. "It'll be a 12-hour turn around and it'll be tough on some of the players. But it's going to be a tough practice. We'll go about two hours."
The Tigers will practice again at 8:45 a.m. on the fields behind the Athletic Complex. All practices are closed.
Auburn's season opener is August 30 when the Tigers host Louisiana-Monroe at Jordan-Hare Stadium. Single-game tickets are available for the Louisiana-Monroe, Southern Miss, Arkansas and Tennessee-Martin home games. To purchase tickets visit www.auburntigers.com or call 800-AUB-1957.
