With the season-opener against Kansas State inching closer, the Auburn football team spent approximately two hours working out at the practice fields behind the Athletic Complex on Sunday. As of Sunday night, less than 13 days remained before the kickoff against the Wildcats.
Head coach Tommy Tuberville, the team's assistants, support staff and players spent Sunday's workout focusing mostly on individual drills with offensive and defensive work later in the practice.
"It was a real good practice," Tuberville said. "We're starting to get a little bit of personality on the team. A lot of the guys have begun to realize they've made it through the long haul (of preseason practices) and there is a lot more enthusiasm in practice. Now, we've started our normal routine.
"It was a good practice yesterday and even better today. I really like the work ethic of our team."
The Tigers will not practice Monday and are scheduled to work out again on Tuesday.
The Tigers' 2007 season opener is scheduled for Sept. 1 against Kansas State at Pat Dye Field at Jordan-Hare Stadium. The game, which kicks off at 6:45 p.m. CT, will be seen live nationally on ESPN.
