Auburn, Ala. -
Inclement weather pushed through Auburn during various periods of the day Sunday, however, there was a long enough break that the Tigers' football team was able to go through its eighth practice of spring drills. Returning to the practice fields for the first time since Saturday's scrimmage in Jordan-Hare Stadium, Auburn used a majority of the 20 periods to concentrate on fundamentals and individual drills before wrapping up with a few periods of team work.
Offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn and defensive coordinator Ted Roof addressed the media following Sunday's practice and discussed what they watched on film from the scrimmage.
"It was about what we thought it was," Roof said. "There were a lot of positive things, but there were a lot of mistakes that we've got to get corrected. That's what we focused on today, was polishing up a lot of those corrections."
Saturday's scrimmage was 90 plays and consisted of approximately 60 rushing plays.
"As many people as we were rotating, overall I was pretty pleased," Malzahn said. "Our guys are trying to be physical and play fast. They're trying to do what they're being coached to do. There were some mistakes, obviously, that are correctable. Players came out to practice today with the attitude that they want to correct them and get better."
