Auburn Football Practice Report
March 9, 2007 Auburn, Ala. - On the eve of its second scrimmage of spring drills, the Auburn football team went through a light 90-minute session on the practice fields Friday afternoon. The players worked through a primarily mental practice, working out in shorts, jerseys and helmets. Head Coach Tommy Tuberville discussed after practice the importance and emphasis of Saturday's scrimmage. "We gave them a break and tried to get their legs back (today)," Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville said. "This is a very important scrimmage for a lot of the young guys tomorrow. It's important that we get something done and find out where we're at. There are 7-8 guys that won't scrimmage. "We're going to work on the kicking game, situations, and endurance, but the main thing we're going to work on is technique and fundamentals, which we weren't very good at last week. Our effort was good, but the execution dropped because of our technique on the offensive line. That's youth and that's the reason we practice." Auburn will scrimmage for approximately 120 plays inside Jordan-Hare Stadium. Saturday's practice will start at 10 a.m. CT. The Tigers will take off Sunday and Monday before wrapping up spring practice next week with five consecutive days beginning on Tuesday and concluding Saturday with A-Day at 1 p.m. at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
