Greg Robinson wowed 'em at the NFL Combine on Saturday with his speed and his agility. That was the word from the NFL Network on the now-former Auburn offensive lineman.
Robinson, who checked in at 332 pounds during weigh-ins Friday, ran an official 4.92 in the 40-yard dash after being timed by hand at 4.84. "Faster than a lot of tight ends," said the NFL Network. Robinson was the second-fastest among the offensive lineman, finishing just behind the 4.87 by Taylor Lewan of Michigan.
Robinson did 32 reps in the bench press Friday. He had a 27½-inch vertical jump.
Robinson is projected as a Top 5 pick in the NFL draft, and maybe as high as the No. 2 overall pick, according to pro scouts and analysts who follow the draft.
NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock said Robinson stood out.
"He's saying, 'You know what, I am your top tackle,'" Mayock said.
Auburn's Steven Clark, who punted for the scouts Friday, will be on the field Saturday afternoon.
Robinson and Clark are two of five Auburn players at the Combine in Indianapolis. The others are running back Tre Mason, defensive end-and-soon-to-be outside linebacker Dee Ford and defensive back Chris Davis. They'll take their turns through Monday.
Ford checked in at 6-2 1/8, 252 pounds with 32 7/8-inch arms and a 77-inch wing
All the players can show off again at Auburn's Pro Day on March 4. The NFL Draft is in early May.
