Nick Marshall and a bunch of former Tigers are headed to the NFL Combine

AUBURN, Ala.  Nick Marshall, the former Auburn quarterback who turned defensive back for the Senior Bowl, is back at quarterback for the NFL Combine on Feb. 17.

At least that's the way listed Friday the Tigers' former record-setting QB who is one of seven Auburn players set for the talent show in front of NFL scouts, coaches and management in Indianapolis.

Marshall set an Auburn single-game passing record when he threw for 456 yards and three touchdowns against Alabama in 2014; and passed for 4,508 yards and accounted for 57 touchdowns in his two years with the Tigers. But he decided to play cornerback at the Senior Bowl, and had a game-high five solo tackles.

Joining Marshall at the Combine will be receiver Sammie Coates, who led Auburn in receiving yards; running back Cameron Artis-Payne, who led the SEC with 1,608 rushing yards; center Reese Dismukes, the Rimington Trophy winner; defensive back Jermaine Whitehead and defensive linemen Gabe Wright and Angelo Blackson, according to

All seven of the former Tigers played in at least one all-star game since Auburn completed its season. They'll get a chance to show off again, if they choose, at Auburn's Pro Day on March 3, as will three other former Tigers who appeared in all-star games: tight end C.J. Uzomah, offensive lineman Chad Slade and Robenson Therezie.
