NEW ORLEANS -- Linebacker Josh Bynes, an important contributor to Auburn's 2010 national championship team, added another title to his trophy case Sunday as a member of the world champion Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.
Baltimore defeated San Francisco 34-31 in Sunday's contest. Bynes recorded the tackle on returner Ted Ginn Jr. on the final play of the game to seal the win.
Bynes becomes the first Auburn Tiger from the 1957 or 2010 national championship squads to also claim a Super Bowl victory. He is just the 17th player nationally to win a BCS title, SEC championship and Super Bowl victory. The product of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., was a second team all-SEC honoree at Auburn.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that an Auburn alum has been part of the Super Bowl winning team. Bynes is the 16th Auburn Tiger to win a Super Bowl championship; the first were Dave Hill and Chuck Hurston with Kansas City in Super Bowl IV.
