AUBURN, Ala. - Rod Bramblett, Auburn's play-by-play announcer in football, basketball and baseball, has chosen as Alabama's Sportscaster of the Year by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

Bramblett is a three-time winner of the award, chosen by a vote of NSSA members in the state.

During Auburn's drive to the BCS Championship Game, Bramblett received national praise his calls of the winning touchdowns against Georgia and Alabama.

"This is a great honor, but it's not just an honor for me," Bramblett said. "It's an honor recognizing the hard work of our entire broadcast team, which I believe to be the best in the business.  I thank my state of Alabama peers for the recognition this year, and I thank Auburn for allowing me to be their "voice"."

Jon Cole, Auburn IMG Sports Network's general manager, saluted Bramblett's latest honor.

"We are thrilled that Rod and our entire broadcast crew were able to be a part of such a magical football season and not one, but several of the most thrilling finishes in Auburn football history," Cole said.  "Being able to describe games such as Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi State to Auburn fans statewide and beyond is something that everyone in the business hopes and prepares for, yet (few get) to experience.

"Rod and our entire crew are proud to represent Auburn athletics, and Rod is certainly deserving of this honor."
