PASADENA, Calif. -- Gus Malzahn has another trophy for the trophy case.
The Auburn coach was named the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year on Monday hours before his Tigers played Florida State in the BCS Championship Game.
Hired just over a year ago, Malzahn has led Auburn to a 12-1 record after inheriting team that went just 3-9 the year before.
Malzahn collected his Eddie Robinson national coach of the year award Saturday night. He has also won the Home Depot and the Associated Press national coach of the year awards. He was named the SEC coach of the year by the AP and by his league coaching peers.
