Coach Chizik Post-Practice
Auburn, Ala. -
The top-ranked Auburn football team practiced in shells for 90 minutes inside Jordan-Hare Stadium Sunday evening in the Tigers' final practice before leaving for Arizona Monday.
Auburn head coach Gene Chizik said the Tigers moved inside the stadium for a change of pace after practicing at the Auburn Soccer Complex and Hutsell-Rosen Track for the past week. Auburn last practiced inside Jordan-Hare Stadium the week leading up to the Iron Bowl against Alabama this season.
"We wanted to change things up a little," Chizik said. "I think the team enjoyed being in there tonight. I thought we needed a change of pace."
Chizik added the Tigers responded to the change of venue with a solid effort during Sunday's practice.
"It was a good practice today," Chizik said. "Everybody was focused. I think as the game gets closer we'll get sharper and get back in the rhythm. We'll meet and have walk-thrus Monday morning to clean up some of the things from tonight's practice before we leave tomorrow."
Following the trip to Arizona Monday, the Tigers will resume practice Tuesday at Scottsdale Community College. All practices in Arizona will be closed to the public.
No. 1 Auburn (13-0) will meet No. 2 Oregon (12-0) in the BCS National Championship Game on Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
The BCS National Championship Game will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., and will be shown live on ESPN and ESPN3D at 7:30 p.m. CT.
