"We wanted to be a physical team coming in. We go back and look at this whole thing, we didn't give them yards after contact. This team beats you when they make you miss and get down the field. They had a couple of big plays, one on the long pass and a couple of swing passes.
(On Florida's last drive): "I am a little surprised they ran swing passes and stuff. They probably thought we were loading up on Tebow inside but we were kind of hoping he would run it and not give it to those little guys. They through it out there to them and we still made the tackles. All the coaches did a super job and had the guys prepared. It didn't look good right there at the end. We started running out of gas. We got a lot of people hurt and banged up. I bet we had a lot of backups out there on defense on that last drive. That was a true Auburn football game. That is how I like to coach a game ... smash mouth, get you a lead and not sit on it, but let your defense and kicking game win it for you.
(On Brandon Cox): "They did a good job of adjusting to some routes that we were running in the first half. Our third quarter wasn't very pretty. We didn't do a lot in the third quarter. We had a couple of pretty good runs. You could look the guys in the face and in the eyes on the sideline, and they never had a doubt. I looked confident because these guys looked confident. It builds a lot of character.
(On Wes Byrum): "It's crazy. He absolutely has ice water running
through his veins. I couldn't even breathe and much less kick a ball in
that situation ... and not only one of them but two of them. The first
one, he caught it just perfect. From the sideline, you just can't tell.
You look for the fans reaction. The second one he didn't hit it quite
as good, but it went inside the right upright. I'm waiting for those
fans to start jumping up and down and it just kind of hit me, 'Man we
won the ball game on a field goal.'
