Experience: Served as special teams coordinator and linebackers coach at Georgia Military College for two years beginning in 2007. Was the outside linebackers coach and a special education teacher at Griffin (Ga.) High School during the 2006-07 school year. Worked as the running backs and slot back coach at Georgia Southern University for the 2003-05 seasons. Was tight ends coach at Appalachian State University for two seasons starting in 2001. Started his coaching career with a five-year stint at Georgia Military College from 1996-2001, starting as a student assistant coach for tight ends, before becoming running backs coach in 1997 and linebackers coach in 2000.
Personal Information: Born Feb. 24, 1977. A native of Elberton, Ga. He and his wife, Tippy Hyde Lunsford, have two daughters, Sophie and Josie, and a son, Rhett. Earned his bachelor's degree in biology with a minor in mathematics from Georgia College & State University in 2000. Received his master's degree in sports science from the United States Sports Academy in 2002.
