A significant contributor as a defensive lineman on Auburn's 2010 and 2013 SEC championship teams, Craig Sanders serves as a graduate assistant coach for the Tigers' defense. He joined the Auburn coaching staff before the 2016 season.
Recording 52 career tackles and 9.5 tackles for loss along the defensive line, Sanders posted seven tackles on special teams as a true freshman for the SEC and BCS national champions. Appearing in 50 career games while earning four letters, Sanders made three starts during the 2013 season, when Auburn won another SEC title and returned to the BCS national title game.
A native of Clio, Ala., he was a baseball and football letterman at Ariton High, winning the 2009 state powerlifting title. He played in the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic.
A member of the SEC academic honor roll, Sanders received his bachelor's degree from Auburn in human development and family studies in August, 2013, and a master's degree in physical education in May, 2015. He taught physical education at Auburn (Ala.) Junior High before joining the Auburn football staff in 2016.
