Brett Whiteside serves as the director of football operations, his second stint with the Tiger program. Whiteside organizes team travel, summer football camps and coaching clinics and assists in the day-to-day operation of the football program.
Whiteside served as the director of recruiting operations from January, 2013, until June, 2017; during that time, Auburn had five consecutive Top 10 recruiting classes, a first in Auburn history. He worked with head coach Gus Malzahn as Director of Player Personnel at Arkansas State in 2012, organizing on-campus recruiting, coordinating the Red Wolves’ team travel and helping oversee the day-to-day operations of the ASU football program.
As a student recruiting assistant at Auburn from 2009-12, Whiteside helped with the recruiting effort of two of the top six recruiting classes in the nation, including the 2011 class, ranked No. 2 nationally and first in the Southeastern Conference. He also assisted with day-to-day operations, including team travel, high school and NFL relations, coaching clinics and summer football camps.
Originally from Southside, Ala., Whiteside graduated from Arkansas State in 2012 with a degree in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on business, education and mathematics. He earned his master’s degree in higher education administration from Auburn in August, 2015. He is married to the former Natalie Slaten, a 2009 Auburn graduate. They have one son, Davis.
