Auburn vs. Louisville Game Notes
Return to Recap

Auburn Tigers
Auburn's record in season openers is now 95-26-2.
Auburn's record in domed stadiums is now 10-7-1 (7-4 at the Georgia Dome).
This is the fourth consecutive game Auburn has forced at least one opponent interception. It was the first interception on an opening drive by Auburn since the 2013 Arkansas game (11/2/13).
Auburn shut out an opponent in the first half for the first time since the 2012 Alabama A&M game (11/17/12), a span of 29 games.
Gus Malzahn's offenses have scored 59, 43, 56 and 31 points in their last four games in the Georgia Dome (averaging 47.25 ppg)
First-time starters for Auburn: Blake Countess, Chandler Cox, Austin Golson, Tim Irvin, Tray Matthews, Dontavius Russell
Cox and Irvin were the first true freshmen to start an Auburn season opener since Reese Dismukes in 2011.
Daniel Carlson's 56-yard field goal, a Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game record, was a career long for the sophomore; his previous long was 51 yards vs. Wisconsin last season. The 56-yarder was the longest by an Auburn kicker since 2003 (57 yds, Philip Yost vs. Western Kentucky) and ties John Riley (at Tennessee, 1969) for the third-longest FG in Auburn history.
Jeremy Johnson's first-quarter 1-yard touchdown rush was the second rushing TD of his career.
Johnson's 33-yard third-quarter touchdown pass to Ricardo Louis was the 10th TD throw of Johnson's career and Louis' sixth career TD reception.
Ricardo Louis' 8-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter was the second rushing TD of his career. This is the first time the senior has scored multiple touchdowns in a game, and the first game that he has scored both a rushing and a receiving touchdown.
Jeremy Johnson's interceptions were the most by an Auburn quarterback since Kiehl Frazier had three at Mississippi State in 2012.
Peyton Barber had a career high with 115 rushing yards today; his previous best came last season with 24 yards against Louisiana Tech. Barber is the 62nd player in Auburn history to rush for 100 yards in a game.
The 35-yard interception on the first play of the game by Tray Matthews was the first of his Auburn career, coming in his first game for the Tigers. It was the longest interception return by Auburn since a 36-yard return by Montravius Adams vs. Louisiana Tech last season (9/27/14).
Justin Garrett's 82-yard fumble return for a touchdown was the longest fumble return for a TD for Auburn in records dating back to 1969. The last AU fumble return TD was by Daren Bates vs. New Mexico State in 2012 (62 yds). It's the first touchdown of Garrett's career.
