Wes Flanigan scored 17 points and dished out nine assists and freshman Mamadou N'diaye added both a career-high 15 points and nine rebounds to lead five Tigers in double figures as Auburn battled back to defeat LSU 76-72 Saturday at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. The game was the last against Auburn for outgoing LSU head coach Dale Brown, who is retiring at the end of the season after 25 years at the LSU helm. With the game tied at 68 with 2:33 left in the game, Pat Burke hit two consecutive baskets to put Auburn up 72-68 with 1:20 remaining. LSU's Nick Sheppard hit a pair of free throws with 1:05 left to cut the lead to 72-70. Flanigan put the Tigers back up by four on a jumper that gave Auburn a 74-70 lead with :31 left. LSU came back, cutting the lead back to 74-72 on a strong move by Sheppard with :20 left. Freshman Daymeon Fishback was fouled on the inbounds play and made two free throws for the final 76-72 margin. Auburn trailed by as much as 10 points in the first half and 36-29 at the half. LSU led 53-48 with 11:40 to play before Auburn went on a 9-0 run giving Auburn a 57-53 lead with 7:42 remaining. LSU went over four minutes without scoring during the run. LSU's Maurice Carter scored 11 of his 24 points in the last six minutes of the game. Fishback, Burke and Alvin Jefferson each added 10 points for Auburn. Auburn's bench outscored LSU's 42-0. LSU was led by Duane Spencer's 26 points, 20 in the first half.
