˙Auburn committed a season-high 27 turnovers and gave up a season-high 22 offensive rebounds in losing 77-53 to fourth-ranked Kentucky before a capacity crowd of 24,169 at Rupp Arena. Auburn, which was led by Franklin Williams' 15 points and Alvin Jefferson's 10 points and 7 rebounds, led the Wildcats 14-10 more than 8 minutes into the game. The Tigers trailed 34-27 at the half. Kentucky led Auburn 56-44 with 7:38 remaining before point guard Wes Flanigan fouled out. Ron Mercer led five Wildcats in double figures with 18 points. UK outrebounded Auburn 42-26 and Nazr Mohammed had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. The Tigers limited Kentucky to 40 percent shooting from the field, its worst of the season; but, Auburn shot 34 percent. UK scored 28 points off Auburn's 27 turnovers and had 17 second chance points.
