Tony Delk led five Wildcats in double figures as No. 1 Kentucky downed Auburn 88-73 before a sellout crowd of 10,108 and an ESPN nationally-televised audience. UK came in winning by an average of 27.6 points in its previous seven SEC road games. The Tigers jumped out to a 12-5 lead five minutes into the game and was tied at 24 with 6:39 to play in the first half. Kentucky, which led 41-32 at the half, then outscored Auburn 32-14 in the last six minutes of the first half and the first six minutes of the second half to enjoy its largest lead at 56-38 with 13:54 remaining. The Tigers clawed back to 75-65 with 4:29 left, but couldn't get any closer. Franklin Williams scored a career-high 22 points, dished out a career-high 4 assists and pulled down 4 rebounds. Wes Flanigan totaled 17 points, 9 assists and 3 rebounds. UK scored 29 points off of 18 Auburn turnovers compared to the Tigers' scoring 4 points off 7 Wildcat turnovers. The Wildcats scored 20 second chance points compared to Auburn's 5.
