Ray Donald came off the bench to score a career-high 22 points a to lead Auburn over South Carolina 84-73 before 6,135 at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum. Donald was 8-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-4 from three-point range. Franklin Williams, who was also substituted in the starting lineup for the first time this season, scored 17 points and pulled down six rebounds for the Tigers. The 16th win of the season for the Tigers equalled the number of wins last year and ensures Auburn of its second straight winning season. Auburn shot a season-high 58.5 percent from the floor, including 9-of-19 from behind the three-point line. South Carolina (12-7, 5-5) was 44.4 percent from the floor, and converted just 7-of-28 three-point attempts. Auburn took the lead six and a half minutes into the contest in the midst of a 15-3 run. The Tigers never trailed again, and built a 12-point lead before South Carolina trimmed the margin to four, 35-31, at the half. Auburn opened the second half by hitting eight of its first 11 shots, building the lead back to 10. Following that run, South Carolina came no closer than five points. Auburn outscored the Gamecocks 13-4 between the six and three-minute mark of the second half, gaining its largest lead, 74-60. BJ McKie lead South Carolina with 19 points. Auburn's Lance Weems scored 15 and Wes Flanigan 12.
