Auburn, Ala.

Auburn used 14-2 runs to open both the game and the second half and Lance Weems scored a career-high 36 points as the Tigers handed Arkansas its worst SEC loss since joining the league in 1991-92 in a 101-76 thrashing. Weems, who also tied a career-high with 8 rebounds and dished out 6 assists, tied a SEC record held by LSU's Chris Jackson by hitting 10 3-pointers against an SEC opponent. Auburn, which led from start-to-finish, tied a school record with 15 made treys vs. the Razorbacks. After jumping out to a 25-9 lead 9 minutes into the game, Arkansas scored 12 consecutive points and outscored the Tigers 17-2 to close to within 27-26 with 4:14 left in the first half. However, that is as close as the Hogs would get. Weems and Ray Donald then hit consecutive 3-pointers and Franklin Williams scored on a reverse layup to put Auburn up 35-26 less than 2 minutes later. The Tigers, who were up 37-32 at intermission, opened the second half with another 14-2 run for a 51-34 lead in less than 4 minutes. Arkansas would not get any closer than 13 points the rest of the way. Auburn led by as much as 29 at 101-72 with :25.9 remaining. Williams recorded a double-double with 20 points and a career-high tying and game-high 10 rebounds and Little Rock, Ark., native Wes Flanigan also had a double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. Pat Bradley led Arkansas with 17 points. The loss marked Arkansas Coach Nolan Richardson's third worst in his 11 years at the school and the team's worst loss since a 27-point defeat at Maryland in the 1987-88 season.
