AUBURN, Ala. -- KT Harrell helped Auburn win two games against ACC opponents last week, and the SEC took notice.
Harrell was named the SEC Player of the Week on Monday after averaging 21.5 points per game as Auburn swept Clemson and Boston College in Auburn Arena. He scored a career-high 29 points, including six 3-pointers, in Sunday's 77-67 win over Boston College.
"KT was big. I have been waiting for the breakout. He has been playing well all year," said coach Tony Barbee.
Harrell is averaging 19.1 points per game this season, a tick behind Chris Denson's 19.2
Harrell scored 14 points in a 66-64 win over Clemson, then came up with the 29 against Boston College. Nothing new there. He's scored in double figures in each of Auburn's first nine games.
Harrell was hot against Clemson and Boston College, hitting 57.7 percent of his shots from the field, including 53.8 percent from the free throw line.
