Dayton defeated Boston College 87-71 on Friday after losing to No. 16 Baylor 84-74 on Thursday in the Charleston Classic ... in the win over Boston College, Dyshawn Pierre led five Flyers who scored in double figures with 23 points, making all five of his 3-point attempts ... Devin Oliver added 17 points and eight rebounds while Jalen Robinson had 15 points and six boards off the bench, Kevin Dillard 14 points on 2-of-3 threes and Vee Sanford 10 points, eight rebounds and six assists ... on the season, Dayton is shoot- ing 48 percent from the field and 41 percent from 3-point range ... Dayton defeated Arkansas State 74-61 in its season opener ... the Flyers return two starters from last year's 20-13 team that tied for fifth in the Atlantic 10 with a 9-7 record before losing in the NIT first round.
This is the third meeting between the Tigers and Flyers with Dayton winning all three previous games. Dayton set an NCAA record by going 0-of-24 from 3-point range but still managed to beat Jeff Lebo-coached Auburn 60-59 in over- time in the Chicago Invitational 60-59 in overtime in Hoffman Estates, Ill., in the last meeting between the two. Dayton defeated Auburn 85-71 in the Sugar Bowl Tournament first round in New Orleans on Dec. 29, 1965. The Flyers thrashed the Tigers 106-63 on Dec. 18, 1972, in Dayton.

Auburn is 5-1 all-time in Charleston, S.C. as the Tigers are 3-0 against the Col- lege of Charleston, 1-0 vs. The Citadel, 1-0 vs. Charleston Southern and 0-1 vs. Murray State.
Auburn's three wins against the College of Charleston came in a 55-51 victory on Friday in the Charleston Classic second round, 76-61 victory in Charleston on Dec. 7, 2004 and a 66-62 win in Auburn on Nov. 17, 2003.
