Murray State defeated Brescia, a NAIA member, 88-43 in its season opener on Friday behind 21 points from Stacy Wilson, who went 3-of-6 from 3-point range, and 15 points, nine rebounds and three assists from Ed Daniel ... the Racers start four seniors and a junior ... Murray State returns preseason All- American Isaiah Canaan, a 6-foot point guard, from its 31-2 team that won the Ohio Valley Conference with a 15-1 record ... the Racers are ranked just outside of the Associated Press Top 25 this year ... Murray State defeated Freed-Hardeman 87-74 in its lone exhibition game on Nov. 5 behind 19 points from Canaan on 3-of-7 3-point shooting ... Wilson and Jeffery Moss added 16 points each while Moss was 4-of-7 from behind the arc ... last season, Murray State advanced to the NCAA Tournament third round where it lost to Marquette 62-53 after defeating Colorado State 58-41 in the second round ... the Racers finished the season ranked 12th nationally by the AP ... Auburn-Murray State Series
This is the third meeting between Auburn and Murray State with the Tigers winning both of the previous two meetings.
In the last meeting between the two, Auburn defeated Murray State 72-53 on Dec. 14, 2002, in Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum while the Tigers defeated the Racers 86-72 in Birmingham on Dec. 21, 1996.
This is the first time Auburn's Tony Barbee has coached against Murray State.

Auburn is 4-0 all-time in Charleston, S.C. as the Tigers are 2-0 against the College of Charleston, 1-0 vs. The Citadel, 1-0 vs. Charleston Southern.
The Tigers' last game in the city came in an 89-59 win over Charleston Southern in the North Charleston Coliseum on Nov. 19, 2007.
Auburn's two wins against the College of Charleston came in a 76-61 victory in Charleston on Dec. 7, 2004, and a 66-62 win in Auburn on Nov. 17, 2003
