The participants for the 3-point and slam dunk contests at Friday's Jungle Jam has been set as coach Tony Barbee unveils his 2013-14 Auburn men's basketball team. Doors open at to the Auburn Arena at 6 p.m. and the event starts at 7 p.m. with a welcome from comedian Mike Epps and the first of four performances by three-time Grammy Award winner Ludacris.
Participating in the 3-point contest will be senior Allen Payne, juniors Chris Griffin and KT Harrell and freshmen Benas Griciunas, Tahj Shamsid-Deen and Dion Wade. Each player will attempt seven shots from three spots on the floor, with the first six shots counting one point and the seventh (money ball) counting for two. Each player will attempt one round and the top two scorers will advance to the 3-point championship.
The four dunk contest participants will be seniors Chris Denson and Asauhn Dixon-Tatum, sophomore Jordon Granger and freshman Matthew Atewe. Each player will have 45 seconds to complete a dunk, with the top two scorers, as judged by a celebrity panel, advancing to the finals.
Fans are encouraged to get to the arena early as seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. All fans are asked to enter through the north entrance, located next to the Auburn Team Shop.
