AUBURN - Auburn Basketball will celebrate the start of the 2006-07 basketball season with the inaugural Jeff Lebo Late Night Classic 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Oct 13.
The single-elimination tournament will take place at Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum at 9 pm Central following the conclusion of the first official men's basketball practice on Friday, Oct. 13. The tournament will continue into the night until a winner is crowned. Participation is free, and everyone will receive a t-shirt for playing.
"We are very excited about the start of the basketball season, and we think this is a great way to reach out to the Auburn students," said Lebo. "The students are vital to our team, and this will be a fun way in getting them involved from the get-go."
Auburn University students, faculty and staff are invited to participate and can register from Sept. 25 through Oct. 9 at the sports marketing office located on the second floor of the Beard-Eaves-Memorial Coliseum, room 2139.
The winning team will play a final game against Lebo and the Auburn basketball coaching staff for the right to travel with the Tigers to a road game this season. Additional prizes include SEC Tournament tickets, Auburn basketball season tickets, Auburn basketball retro jerseys, Under Armour gear, DVDs and much more.
The Coliseum will be open for anyone interested in watching the tournament.
Following a pair of exhibitions Nov. 3 and Nov. 7, Auburn opens the season Nov. 10 against Troy at 7 p.m. Central.
