Scouting Arkansas

The Razorbacks are a perfect 14-0 in Bud Walton Arena this year and de- feated a pair of top 20 teams in two weeks while upsetting No. 19/20 Michigan 66-64 on Saturday before a sold out crowd of 19,050 and winning its SEC opener against No. 15/16 Mississippi State 98-88 on Jan. 7 ... in the win over Michigan, Arkansas made its first 11 shots from the field and led 34-14 and led 49-33 early in the second half ... the Wolverines missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer ... BJ Young led Arkansas with 15 points off the bench while Mardracus Wade added 12 points and Rickey Scott and Hunter Mickelson had 11 points each ... Arkansas outscored Michigan 35-4 in bench points and shot 50 percent from the floor and 5-of-11 from 3-point range while limiting Michigan to 41.0 percent shooting and 8-of-28 (.286) from behind the arc ... Auburn-Arkansas Series

This is the 43rd meeting between the Tigers and Razorbacks with Arkansas holding a 26-16 series lead. Arkansas defeated Auburn by a com- bined 11 points last year, 73-64 in Fay- etteville and 57-55 in Auburn. Auburn is 3-17 in Fayetteville, including a 2-16 mark in Bud Walton Arena. The Tigers' three wins in Fayetteville came in a 73-51 victory (Arkansas' worst loss ever in the 17-year history of Bud Walton Arena) on Jan. 24, 2009, a 52-37 victory in Bud Walton on Jan. 11, 2003, and in a 100-89 victory over the eighth-ranked Razorbacks in 1993, the final season of Barnhill Arena. The Tigers have a 12-8 series edge in Auburn, including an 0-1 record in Auburn Arena. The teams are 1-1 at neutral sites.

Tony Barbee vs. Arkansas

Auburn head coach Tony Barbee is 0-2 against Arkansas while Razorback coach Mike Anderson has never coached against Auburn as a head coach. This will be the first time Barbee and Anderson have coached against each other.

Arkansas Tiger

Auburn assistant coach Randall Dickey is a native of Valley Springs, Ark., 75 miles from Fayetteville. He was an all-state selection in basketball and all-conference in baseball at Valley Springs High. Dickey earned his bachelor's degree in Education from Ouachita Baptist in 1983 where he was a four-year letterman and three-year starter from 1979-83. He earned honorable mention All-Arkansas and honorable mention NAIA District 17 honors. He began his coaching career at Lake- side High in Hot Springs from 1983-84 and was an assistant at Morrilton (Ark.) High from 1984-90. His brother, James, is in his second year as head coach of the University of Houston after having an outstanding stint as head coach of Texas Tech from 1991- 2001.)
