Auburn Basketball Sold Out for Kentucky Game

AUBURN – The Auburn Athletics Department has announced that Saturday’s men’s basketball game against Kentucky is sold out. The game is an ORANGE OUT and all fans are encouraged to wear orange. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m. CT and will be televised on ESPNU.

Student gates open for Saturday’s game at 6:15 p.m. for members of The Jungle wearing their official t-shirt, and at 6:30 p.m. for the general student line. The first 1,500 students will have courtside bleacher access for the game, and the Athletics Department will make available an additional 500-plus drink rail tickets. Auburn Ignited cards must be shown to gain access to the game, and can be picked up at the Auburn Arena Ticket Office from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. until Friday. Students wishing to join The Jungle can still do so online at using a credit card for just $10. Students also can sign up with a cash payment at the following t-shirt pick-up locations. Students must show a valid Auburn Ignited card at the time of pick up.

  • The Athletics Marketing Office on Tues., Jan. 15 until 5 p.m. and on Wed., Jan. 16 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Auburn Arena Student Lobby on Thurs., Jan. 17 at the women’s basketball game vs. Tennessee (tipoff at 8 pm.), from 6:30 p.m. through the end of halftime.
  • Main Concourse near the Student Center on Fri., Jan. 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (weather permitting).

Tiger Transit shuttles will run for Saturday’s game from the Facilities Division and West Thach. Transit service begins at 7 p.m. and will run for one hour after the game’s conclusion. Parking is also available to the general public in the Jordan-Hare Stadium deck, the Coliseum parking lot, at the Lowder Business building and for a $1 charge at the North Deck. Former Auburn All-American and NBA All-Star Mike Mitchell will have his No. 30 Auburn jersey retired on Saturday prior to the Tigers' game with Kentucky. Mitchell, who was 55 when he died on June 9, 2011, was a second-team All-American at Auburn in 1977-78 and a four-time All-SEC selection, including a first-team pick three years. He is the all-time leading rebounder in Auburn history with 996 rebounds and he left as the Tigers' all-time leading scorer with 2,123 points. He is currently second on the scoring list behind Chuck Person. Mitchell ranks second in three other stat categories: field goals made (926) and attempted (1830) and all-time scoring average (20.4).
