    Auburn Head Coach Jeff Lebo

    Opening statement...

"In a game like that, it's all about shooting the basketball. They shot very well and we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn and that was basically the difference in the game. We had 20 more shots than they did, without a discrepancy on the foul line. When you get the ball 20 more times than your opponent, you would think that you are going to win the game. But, we shot the ball poorly and we turned it over. We had 10 turnovers in the game and we couldn't make any shots. We had some pretty good ones. (Brandon) Hazzard was terrific and (Michael) Vogler, I thought, was outstanding. (Antywan) Jones came into the game, not shooting too well, and he went 3-for-4 from the three-point line. They were good offensively tonight."

    On Auburn defense...

"Well, I will have to look at it on film. Some of them were open and some shots were contested. Hazzard made some tough shots, but I will have to look at in on film to see. Coming into the game, our efforts were to go after Hazzard and we did a very poor job in every spot, but he's extremely well at what he does. He's a two-star shooter and we let him come in here and show us what he does and he did it. That was the biggest disappointment in the game. He was terrific."

    On late-game scenario...

"I think that they made a play off of the rim. They took the one-on-one play there at the end and they got to the rim and made a great finish and took the lead back. We could never get a couple of stops in a row and when we did get a stop, we couldn't get a run of buckets or get into a flow offensively. When you put the ball in the bucket, then it's their energy to defend. They made us defend for long periods of time with that dribble-drive offense that spread us out with four perimeter guys in there. They tried to beat us off the bounce in a one-on-one situation. That was their best way to play and they do that more for shooting threes than getting it into the paint off of the dribble."

    Auburn player quotes

    Lucas Hargrove

    Opening statement...

"I take full responsibility for this loss as a senior and a leader. We have no excuses. I don't think they have a better team, but they were better tonight. Our leadership wasn't there. As a senior, that's my fault, completely my fault. There is no excuses that I can give you they won the game."

    On Auburn's inside scoring...

"I really don't know what to tell you. We could have scored more down there but we didn't have the leadership or tell each other to get the ball down there. I don't know what to tell you."

    Troy coach, Dan Maestri

    Opening Statement...
"I thought it was a great team victory. We had four guys in double-figures and the guys that play inside, Bernard Tooms and Yamene Coleman, had six and five so together they had double-figures. To be able to come in and get a win like this tonight, it takes contributions from everyone and I'm really happy for those guys that played a part in this thing."

On effectiveness of Troy's man-to-man defense...
"We've been struggling with the zone so it didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out we better get something else going especially after the Georgia Southern game. We went into man-to-man and I thought our kids put in a lot of effort. Brandon Hazzard had a great game offensively but he really put in a great effort defensively which really speaks admirably of his performance tonight. We knew Auburn would make a run and that we would really have to match that effort which is not easy to do especially when you're on the road."

    On beating Auburn's man-to-man defense...
"Offensively, we're becoming a little more patient. We're not shooting the ball as quickly which is something we've worked on the last few days. I thought we had a lot of patience tonight, especially when they were putting a lot of pressure on us. Also, we didn't turn the ball over in the last seven or eight minutes, a time when you really can't afford turnovers."

On what a win over Auburn means to the Troy program...
" Obviously it's a big win for Troy basketball because we've never beaten Auburn before. I don't look at as a win over a certain team that we're playing or a certain game. It was good for our guys to come in and get a win on the road. It was our sixth-straight game on the road, and to get a win over Auburn is big. Auburn's chemistry just isn't right yet with Tay Waller having been out for a few games earlier in the season but I think that they're a very good basketball team."

On beating an SEC team on the road...
"There's no doubt that it helps the team's confidence. It's not a crazy philosophy what they say about winning and confidence. To get a win versus a good basketball team on the road definitely helps you in the confidence department. Again, we still have two more games on the road, so tonight will help us but it doesn't mean that we're going to have success on the road automatically. I think we will go into the next game a little more confident after tonight though."
