Auburn Head Coach Jeff Lebo Quotes
"In the first half we did some things good, but we didn't shoot well. These are odd games to play when the other team's big men are shooting from the perimeter. They have a different type of defense that's hard to play against. They shoot great from the three. We did a good job on the glass, even though we weren't much bigger then they were. We left a lot of points at the line, which has been a problem for us. Shooting two-for-14 from the three-point line was not good. Hopefully we can shoot better."
On Boubacar's Performance
"I thought he was good in the first half. He did some good things. He showed me today that he has a chance. He is still learning the game. He's learning what it takes every day to play at this level. He has picked up things pretty quick. I thought for his first game he did a lot of things well. What was most impressing to me was on a loose ball he dove on the floor. At seven-foot-one, 275 pounds, that's great. He played hard. He is just learning. He is a work in progress, but he really showed great signs out there. He would have had 14 points if he would have finished around the rim. That's going to come with hard work. So over all he did a pretty good job out there for us."
On what he took from the game today...
"We took a lot from it. It was strange when they had their big men stepping out to shoot three's. It's different for us to play against a style like that."
On guard Rasheem Barrett's injury...
"Well I didn't think he was going to play. He got hurt in one of his classes. It was a gymnastics class. He was taking a skills test, because he is a physical education major. Korvortney (Barber) also got hurt in that class. He hurt his ankle. If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any at all. I didn't think he would go but they gave him some medicine, for his neck. He could hardly go, so they gave him some medicine, but he wasn't really effective for us. If he didn't go we would have only had seven. He didn't play much because of the injury."
On Frank Tolbert
"He got us the buckets when we need the buckets. He is going to start playing the four spot. In some games he will have an advantage but in this game he didn't because they are very small an athletic at every position. He did a good job tonight, finishing on the break. Some of his turnovers were not pretty to watch, but I am kind of used to that."
Auburn Player Quotes
Quantez Robertson, junior guard
On losing Josh Dollard and LaQuan Prowell...
"I wouldn't say we were out of character. We practice with them, and we practice without them. Right now we are without them. We have been practicing without them the last few days so it isn't anything new."
On taking few shots...
"I wasn't able to shoot the shots that I wanted. I was just trying to take some good shots and trying to get the team the ball like I always do."
Boubacar Sylla, freshman center
On first game...
"I was satisfied. I am not sure how I would handle a smaller, faster team"
