Auburn Head Coach Jeff Lebo

Opening statements...
"It was a great win for our team. We knew UT Martin would come in here ready to play. They hadn't played in two weeks and they just have a terrific player in (Lester) Hudson. He's special. You can see why the NBA people love him. He doesn't just score - he can pass, he defends, his IQ is very high, and he's not only a good player when I watched him on film, but he was really good tonight and just kept them in the game with how he played.

"Offensively we shot the ball very well, and shot the ball very well from 3, and luckily we did, because they're a senior dominated team and we knew they weren't going to go away with (Hudson) on the floor. I wish we would have shot a little better from the free throw line coming down the stretch but it's just nice to win and to play another day."

On difficulties getting the ball inside...
"Well, we're not particularly big and they were fronting and really playing back and packing it in. You can see we had a lot of 3-point opportunities so we had to take what the defense was giving us. They were trying to help - they had four fouls on (Olajide) Hay inside and we wanted to get the ball inside a little more to (Barber) but they did a pretty good job of fronting and then sinking down in behind and giving us the 3-point shot and luckily we made it tonight."

On Quantez Robertson's performance...
"He battled his tail off and you look at Hudson, he had 33-12-7 and I thought Tez played him pretty well. (Hudson) made some absolutely plays tonight. They were insane, some of the shots he made. I told (Tay Waller) sometimes you just congratulate them and be there again the next time, and the next time, and the next time. Tez did a good job. He's our best defensive guy, and sometimes you just can't do anything else. He was awfully good tonight at making some plays."

On Lester Hudson...
"He controlled the game, I thought, just when he had the ball. I don't know about you guys but I was awfully uncomfortable every time he had it, because I felt like he was either going to score or he was going to make a scoring play. That's what's so good about him is he can pass too. I know (Stephen) Curry is pretty good, but if he's better than that I want to see him. Those two guys are pretty special. He's one that you don't really hear a lot about. People that didn't come to this game missed a heck of a show from him. That's about as good of a guard as I've seen in a while."

On putting 23 wins this season in perspective...
"I guess we'll put it all in perspective after we're done. I'm just proud of the team - the way we played coming down the stretch, the way that we've handled adversity, we've handled tough situations, we've handled putting pressure upon us coming down the stretch and handled disappointment not getting into the (NCAA) Tournament. On Monday they practiced their tails off and didn't say a word about it. They practiced their tails off on Tuesday and came out here and won a basketball game, and I'm just proud of them. It's been a heck of a ride and a lot of fun."

On watching teams in the NCAA Tournament...
"What's good about playing again is that I won't watch it because we have one day to get ready for whoever we play. I'm sure the kids will watch it. I'm sure that they'll go through it and wonder. That's the hardest part for me as a coach is watching them watch it and feel like we should really be a part of this in my opinion and we're not."

On if that also fuels your fire to excel in this tournament...
"I think so, but the kids are just focused in what they're doing. They're happy to be playing. There are a lot of teams that aren't playing right now. They were disappointed, but they've put it behind them pretty quickly and at that point there was nothing we can do about it. We can cry and whine and moan and pout and all that other stuff, but it's not going to take it away. We have a chance to play and we have a chance to keep on practicing and having a chance to be together as a team, and that's what we're going to do. And I think they've been terrific doing that."

Auburn Player Quotes

DeWayne Reed

On his offensive performance...
"I had to adjust to the balls. We had new balls. I had to adjust real fast. I shot the ball pretty well today. I didn't shoot very well in the SEC Tournament but I shot the ball very well today."

On what UT Martin did to come back in the second half...
"Getting in and trying to take me out. I had to work for the ball and when I got it they had good pressure. They did a good job denying the ball and denying passing."

On free throw problems in the second half...
"We just have to work on our free throws a little more and concentrate on just putting the ball in the basket."

Quantez Robertson

On Lester Hudson...
"He's a heck of a player. He can attack the rim, he can shoot, he can pull up - it's tough guarding him and he made some tough shots over our hands, and he made some open ones that kind of got him going. He played a heck of a game tonight.

"He just got it going in the second half. Being that he is the No. 2 scorer in the NCAA, it's hard to keep a man like that down. He knocked down some tough shots and got going."

On his career-high point total...
"I wasn't doing too much other than what I normally do -just attacking the rim some and shooting my open shots a lot more. I think shooting after practice and getting some extra shots before the game helped me knock down some shots today."

On the importance of these games to the seniors...
"We just try to play as hard as we can night in and night out - practicing as hard as we can, trying to get everybody on the same page. I think that's what motivated us today. It could have been our last game, but we played pretty well tonight and knocked down some shots, and we're able to advance to the next round now.

On how they seized momentum in the first half...
"I believe just taking it to them on the fast break and getting it inside to Korvotney Barber and Brendan Knox and knocking down our open shots. We all got it going a little early, and we were able to knock down some open shots and some free throws and that got us going."

On hitting 3-pointers whenever UT Martin got close...
"It was a big lift for us. We were able to knock down open threes when we needed it to keep the lead, and we fed off that and just D'd up a little more, and grabbed a lot more rebounds and we were able to come up with the victory."

Tennessee-Martin Head Coach Brett Campbell

Opening Statement...
"I was really proud of our guys and the fight they had in them tonight. I thought they hung in there and had some opportunities, but if Auburn can shoot the ball that well from the arc on a consistent basis, I think you guys are all going to be taking a trip to New York. Our game plan was to come in and contain the basketball, keep it out of the lane and eliminate second shots. I thought we did that for the most part, but I tell you what, they jumped up and made shots tonight. Quantez (Robertson) goes 2-for-3 and what a night DeWayne (Reed) had."

On first-half adjustments when Auburn took a big lead...
"We had a couple possessions where we created some turnovers and got some quick baskets and kinda got our head back up. Of course, when you have No. 5 (Lester Hudson) on the floor for you, you know you have a chance every night - he is a special player. He is a guy who has carried us a long way, I wish he would have had some more perimeter help tonight, but he is a special player, as you can see."

On Lester Hudson not scoring early and then scoring in bunches...
"After you have had Lester (Hudson) for a while, you realize that sooner or later those shots are going to start going down to the rim. He will get his, but the other thing is that he makes other players better. He really makes good decisions in transition. I know he had some careless turnovers in the first half, and that was a concern, I thought the difference in the second half was that we turned it over only four times, instead of 11 in the first half and they capitalized on our 11 turnovers in the first half."

Tennessee-Martin senior guard Lester Hudson

General statement...
"All I can say about my team is that we came out and played as hard as we could. Auburn is a good team. We took their punches and they took our punches from time to time and we just fell short tonight."

On not scoring much early in first half...
"I always try my best to not get frustrated. I know I can score in bunches, like eight or 10 at a time in two or three minutes, so I just keep my head and try to keep my teammates going when I can't score. Help them score and I know I will get it going sooner or later."

On second-half comeback...
"We just stayed focused and it was really hard to stay focused with the Auburn fans, they were loud tonight. We just stayed focused, played hard and stayed together and played our hearts out because we did not want this to be our last game, but we fell short."

On Quantez Robertson's scoring...
"On him (Robertson), on the scouting report, they told us that he is a straight driver and he jumped up and made some big threes in the first half and we were like, 'dang,' and coach was like, 'you boys are going to have to get up now.' So, we had to get up and play good defense on him. They made some unbelievable shots. We just stayed hard, played hard, but they came out with the win."
