Ole Miss Coach Andy Kennedy
On Murphy Holloway: "We were challenging guys. Somebody had to step up. We had two early fouls, and we were dependent upon some of the upperclassmen. That's the best Murphy has played in a while. He's been unlike himself in the last couple of games as far as production. It's challenged him. But he made some huge plays. He knocked some balls away, and I think that was the key to the game."
On turnovers in the second half: "We defended much better in the second half, and we turned them over. They had 16 turnovers at the end of the game and 10 in the second half. They had turnovers that led us to have some opportunities in the open floor. Every team needs easier basket opportunities, and I thought we created that with our defense in the second half."
Auburn Coach Tony Barbee
"Things just didn't go in our favor at the end of the game. It comes down to getting defensive stops and executing at the end. They did a better job of it than we did. In the last four minutes of the game we just couldn't get things together. We couldn't make shots and we turned the ball over. Rebounding was even. We both had 33 rebounds. I thought we did a fairly good job the majority of the game, except for the first five minutes, in rebounding the ball and executing.
On second half:
"They went 0-6 to start the second half. But then they got four straight offensive rebounds against our zone and started getting layups. That's when they started to get things going. They got to the foul line 25 times and we only got to the foul line 10 times. We had more field goals and we had more threes, but the difference was they had seven more foul shot makes than we did."
