Opening Comments
"We can't let a team shoot 60 percent on us like we have been doing in our first three games. So our last three days in practice, I don't think we did anything offensively, and it probably shows. I was proud of the way the guys fought. We played how we are supposed to play to survive because of our limited offensive team. We have to guard our tails off, and we did that tonight. I have never been a part of letting a team shot 28 percent and lose. We had our opportunities. We just have to be more confident on the offensive end of the floor. We have to continue to play tough, nasty, hard-nosed defense. I was proud of the guys for doing that, but you can't give up opportunities to a team like Florida."

On playing Ty Armstrong...
"He was healthy. He was ready to go. He was cleared by the doctors. He has looked really good in practice. He wanted to play, and he begged me to play. I was comfortable with the way he has performed in practice. He played well tonight. He gives us another presence alongside (Rob) Chubb inside. He's got to come along in his game conditioning and game timing and all those things. He was a presence offensively and defensively being big and strong and physical."

On not scoring many points in the paint...
"We are what we are. It is not like I am surprised by it. We are limited offensively. It's not an excuse. I have been saying it all year. We got great looks in the post, and driving it to the basket. We got great looks from the three. You would consider any look from the free throw line a great look, but we went 1-for-8. We are what we are. I'm not happy because I will never be happy with a loss, but I'm more pleased that tonight they grasped that if you will play tough, scrappy, nasty, and mean, you will give yourself a chance every night."

On the short turnaround for Saturday's game...
"We got to let this one go. It won't help us out on Saturday. We can't do much tomorrow, except cerebral. It will be a long night getting ready for them, and getting the guys ready tomorrow."

On still searching for that last conference win...
"We obviously want to win so it might be disheartening, but the thing I am most pleased with is that we fought. We lost that somewhere, and we got it back. If we keep doing that, we will break this seal somewhere along the way."

22, Kenny Gabriel, F, Jr.

On the type of play necessary to win an SEC game ...
"I loved that defense today. We gave up a couple more offensive rebounds than we would have liked, but when it was all said and done, we did great on defense. I would give us an A. We fought. We were out there like junkyard dogs, and that's the type of team that we need to be from the beginning of the game. We showed that today."

On shots falling ...
"It was very frustrating. When shots are falling, we need to play defense. That's one thing we did today. Even though shots weren't really falling, we were still playing defense. Sometimes they fell. Sometimes they didn't. I'm just proud of how we played defense today."

On not scoring...
"We're just not putting the ball in the net. A part of that is us not making free throws. We were 1-for-8 from the free throw line. If we had gotten all eight of those, we would have won the game. We also just don't finish plays or layups, and we're not making free throws."

Opening Comments
"It was one of the best wins I have been a part of because I don't know if I have ever been a part of the game sitting on the sidelines as a player or coach watching us struggle to shoot the ball as badly as we did tonight. It was unbelievable. I think the thing that gets lost in the game is the fact that we really defended. I think we talked about that, our defensive numbers had slipped a little bit, and I knew coming into here it was going to be a grind. I had watched the play enough to know that it was going to be a tough game. I think I said this at the press conference that I have a lot of respect for Tony (Barbee) and how hard their kids play, how hard they compete and how physical they are. Their kids came out and battled. I think what gets lost in the game is the fact that we held them to 40 points. It was hard game to watch and I have just never been a part of a team that was shooting like that.

On the poor shooting...
"I think during the course of any game you are going to have some shots that are some bad shots. I think we had our share of a couple of bad shots. I thought we had some really good looks. I thought Erving Walker had a couple of really good looks. Sometimes these guys were so wide open, they weren't even close. We had shots that we were hitting the backboard before hitting the rim. Even our front court guys I thought had some really good looks but we found a way to win a game on the road and you take it and move on.

On taking care of the ball....
"That was a huge emphasis going into the game. I mean, they do a lot of changing and pressing. We talked about holding our turnovers to 12, and we were two above that with 14. It is hard to get a lot of assists when you shoot 20% from the field and single digits from the 3 point line. We had a few careless turnovers, but I didn't think it was much of our passing."

#11 Erving Walker, G, Jr.

On shooting....
"That was a terrible shooting display by us, but we hung in there. We are shooters, but we need to shoot with confidence."

On Boynton's 3-point shot...
"He hit it and tied it up, and all I was thinking about was getting another point so we could take the lead."

#1 Kenny Boynton, G, So.

On the final moment of the game....
"We have been in this position many times where we've had to scramble and come up with a shot, and we were able to do that tonight."

On the game as a whole...
"I think our defense won the game tonight. We had too many turnovers during the first half, and that's because we were second guessing ourselves too much. We just couldn't get the ball in. We dug ourselves in a hole, but we were able to pull through and come out with a win."
