AUBURN HEAD COACH JEFF LEBO

On Jeff Lebo's impression of the game...
"They battled their tails off. They were just absolutely incredible. We are just going to have to make shots. We are still a good team, we just need to do a better job of making shots."

On the team's fatigue...
"Anyone who has played basketball before knows shooting begins below the waist. Quan Prowell is one of our best shooters, but battling inside may be affecting his shooting. Arkansas shot the ball extremely well, finishing the game shooting 57 percent from the field. We were still able to stay in the game."

AUBURN PLAYERS

Frank Tolbert, Senior Guard

On being short handed and still being able to compete...
"We are going to come out and compete every night. We have to play at a high-rate every time we step out onto the floor because we are short handed."

On the pressure of the game...
"There was no pressure at all. You just have to be confident in your ability as a team. We were in good position and had some good looks at the end of the game the balls just didn't fall. But we are giving ourselves a chance to win."

ARKANSAS HEAD COACH JOHN PELPHREY

Opening statement...
"It always feels good to win one on the road. When you win a game on your home court it is one thing, but when you win a game, especially a big game like this, on the road, you feel like you are stealing something. We felt like this was a good opportunity to win on the road. Auburn played well. I was not at all surprised at how hard it was for us to win."

On Auburn 3-pointers in the first half...
"We had a problem spreading out on defense. They have incredible speed and quickness, and found ways to get open shots on the outside. They played a lot of zone, also, and it caught us off guard at first. They also did a great job changing defenses, but I felt like we did a good job in transition."

On Pelphrey's first game against Auburn...
"It was great to get a win tonight. Auburn plays with a lot of pride, and is coming off a greatly improved season. I have a lot of respect for coach Lebo and his team."

On team free throws...
"This win was a team effort. We shot well from everywhere but the free throw line. I think if we would have made our free throws it would not have been so close in the end. Everybody did well though, they all played 40 minutes. Our win did not depend on just one player."

ARKANSAS PLAYERS

Sonny Weems, Senior Forward

On how he was able to find open shots...
"Auburn was double teaming the post a lot so the kick-out was there all night I was just fortunate to be the one getting the passes."

On the importance of this win...
"This is a big win especially since it is an SEC game. You always want to open SEC play with a win and we did. Also it was on the road, so I feel that this win will carry over to the rest of our games and hopefully lead to wins."

On Auburn's play...
"They showed a lot of heart out there. Auburn has a lot of key injuries this season so that makes it even harder for them to go out and win. They rebounded hard and never gave up and I respect them for that."

Patrick Beverley, Sophomore Guard

On first half...
"We played pretty good as a team. Auburn was doubling our post guys a lot so I was open a lot and took advantage of the shots I had."

On auburn...
"Auburn is a really good team, but injuries are really hurting them. In the first half they were playing great team basketball and hitting a lot of shots. I feel that because of all the injuries they didn't have as much energy in the second half but the kept fighting and made it hard for us to win."
