Auburn head coach Jeff Lebo

Opening Statement...
"I thought we finally shot the ball pretty well from the perimeter. That certainly opened up some things for us. We were very balanced offensively. Lucas (Hargrove) established himself inside. So did Brendon Knox. We've been waiting on that kind of consistency from the perimeter. We turned it over a little too much at the end with our subs in but overall I thought it was a good win for us. We had nice balance out there. We wanted to do a better job on Antonio Hansen. We've continued to have problems taking the shooter out of the game."

On second half penetration by Auburn guards...
"I think we wanted to establish ourselves on the inside. It took us a little while. They changed how they defended ball screens and mixed up defensives. It was hard for us to get into any kind of flow. Once we got the lead and they switched to man, we had more opportunities to get inside."

On how prepared the Tigers are for the start of SEC play...
"Shooting the ball well was a good sign today. We are small. Rebounding at times will be an issue for us. Our best offensive group is our three smaller guys. We have to give up something there. That is a concern with SEC play right around the corner."

Brendon Knox, Forward

On what Auburn did differently in the second half compared to the first half...
"In the first half, we just started off slowly. That's something we've got to work on because when we get into SEC play, we won't be able to start off slow. We've got to work on getting ready to start the game off hot and with high energy. "

On getting offensive opportunities off of dribble penetration by DeWayne Reed...
"When the guards penetrate, I'm right there. All of the big guys are right there ready to catch the ball and finish."

On this game helping Auburn to get ready for SEC play...
"I think every game we have helps us take a big step toward getting ready for SEC play. The SEC is tough, so I think every game is a big step toward being ready."

Georgia Southern head coach Charlton Young

Opening statement...
"Auburn shot the ball better than they usually do and I give them credit. A lot of that had to do with our defending. They had a lot of guys step up - especially on the inside. We didn't think they could score that well. When you look at the stat sheet, you see a season high 54 percent from the three-point line. Our problems are on the defensive side of the ball when people get confidence early. We need to find a way to fix that before we get into conference play."

On Auburn's offensive gameplan...
"Auburn did a great job of attacking us with their size. They were bigger, stronger and faster. We're not going to play another team like that in our conference. The first part of our season is over. We have six of our next eight games at home. We're looking forward to that. We need to get our feet back under us."
