Quoting Auburn Head Coach Jeff Lebo
"We had the one thing happen that we couldn't afford to have happen tonight and that was Frank (Tolbert) getting two fouls in the first half. Fortunately, we were able to get through the first half without him. Larry Williams did a good job filling in for us, he's a redshirt freshman but he really helped us tonight.
"We moved the ball well offensively. We had 19 assists. We also played well on defense, forcing 26 turnovers.
"I told our guys we are going to have to be iron men from here on out. They are going to get lots of reps in practice and then lots of time during the game. It's just where we are.
"Lucas (Hargove) just got his cast off and hasn't practiced live in a month. So that's tough. I didn't want to play him tonight, but he wanted to go. He wanted to get in there and help us anyway he could.
"Everyone has to score now. We have to be efficient with the ball. We can't afford to waste opportunities."
"They say it takes five to six weeks to come back from the type of injury Korvotney (Barber) has. He will have the surgery Friday. Injuries like that, it might take another two weeks to heal in addition. At best, it will be February before we get him back."
Quoting Auburn player Quan Prowell
"We played aggressive defense tonight. We played as a team. We are going to have to use our quickness to our advantage more since we are a smaller team now.
"It's hard to not feel like we are a little snake bit, but that's just how it is. We have to play the cards we are dealt.
"I think I am putting more pressure on myself to score now that we don't have Vot (Korvotney Barber). Being seniors, Frank (Tolbert) and I decided that we are going to have to pick up the slack and find ways to get the job done.
"It's harder to go from playing defense on the perimeter to the post. You've got to be more physical and pound more, but you can't get into foul trouble."
Quoting Auburn player Frank Tolbert
"I know I had to step up and do whatever it took to score. We all have to step up and pick each other up.
"It's frustrating (the injuries), but that's just how it is. We can't do anything about it."
Texas A&M CC head coach Perry Clark
On the team's 26 turnovers...
"They were very aggressive. This is the first time we have played a team that changes defenses like that. That led to a lot of easy baskets for them."
On difficulty trying to get the ball inside...
"Our strategy was good, but John Reynolds and Chris were hidden in there. We have to get their confidence up so that they can step up and make some shots."
On Auburn's second half run...
"Our defense in the last 10 minutes is what really hurt us. We did not make stops and give ourselves a chance to cut the lead back."
Tim Green, junior guard
On 26 turnovers...
"They had a lot of steals on us. I don't really know what happen. Miscommunication? I put it on myself. I'm not used to what happened out there today and we can't let it happen again."
