Damon Davis is in his first season as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach responsible for the training of men's basketball as well as men's and women's golf and his fifth overall at Auburn.
Davis spent the previous four years at Auburn as Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at Auburn, the last two with the baseball team.
He was an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of Iowa from 2004-08, working with baseball, track and field, cross country and softball while assisting all other sports. Prior to that, he was an intern with the Chicago Bulls from 2002-04.
The Petersburg, Ill., native received his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Western Illinois in 2003, and is working on his master's degree at Auburn. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is certified by the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified and is certified as a Sports Performance Coach by United States of America Weightlifting.
He is married to the former Yari Schmidt of Rockford, Ill. They have two children, a son, Magnus (5) and a daughter, Nellie Elizabeth (2).
