Jermile Brooks enters his first season as Athletic Trainer for the basketball team.
Brooks spent the previous four years from 2008-12 working at Clemson University with the men's basketball team as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. He also supervised graduate assistants for cross country and track & field.
He was an assistant athletic trainer at his alma mater, College of Charleston, from 2005-08 where he was the primary athletic trainer for men's basketball, equestrian, cross country, track & field, women's golf and cheerleading. He also was rehab coordinator for the Johnson Center Athletic Training Room. Brooks was coordinator of inventory and budgeting of supplies, clinical instructor for student athletic trinaers and supervisor of the school's graduate interns.
Brooks worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Clemson from 2001-03 where he worked with baseball and football. In his only season with the baseball team, Clemson went 39-22 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in the Auburn Regional.
He earned a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from College of Charleston in 2001 and a master's degree in Educational Counseling from Clemson in 2003. He is a nationally certified athletic trainer and is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine as a Corrective Exercise Specialist (NASM-CES).
Brooks is married to the former Haley Myers of Birmigham, Ala. They have two sons, Caleb (2) and Aiden (born October 1, 2012).
