Auburn vs. Arkansas Pine-Bluff
December 30, 2013| Auburn Arena
Auburn, Ala.

Auburn head coach Tony Barbee
On the defense...
"I thought we swarmed. We want to use these last two games to prepare ourselves for what's about to happen with the conference season. I thought we did a good job of not worrying about who our competition was and worried about where we could get better. I thought defensively we did a pretty good job overall. There were some places where we got complacent because of the score, but for the most part we did a good job of communicating."

On the offense...
"This team has a chance to be a good offensive team. We can shoot the ball. We can stretch the floor and we have got guys that can drive and create."

On Tahj Shamsid-Deen...
"He just doesn't' look like a freshman out there. He plays with a lot of poise and a lot of confidence. He knows what I want and he goes out there and does it."

On defensive rebounding...
"We wanted to give them one shot for the most part. I thought we did a good job of swarming the glass."

On Chris Denson and KT Harrell...
"I felt pretty confident coming into the year that those guys would do what they are doing, if not more. I think they are both doing a pretty good job of using their threat to score to get other guys shots."

On Matthew Atewe...
"We still want to be cautious with his leg. I thought he was a little bit more aggressive."

Freshman Guard Dion Wade
On the team having 12 blocks...
"Defense has been our identity. We work on it every day in practice. I feel that we can do a lot better though. Half way through the second half we dropped off a little bit."

On the team gaining confidence...
"I think we get confidence from the bench. The bench will hype you up and if the bench hypes you up, the crowd will get loud too. That brings a lot of confidence. Personally, if I make a shot, I am not making it for myself, I am making it for my teammates."

On shooting 4-for-4 from three...
"I have been working on my shot lately. My teammates gave me confidence and I was just trying to have fun out there."

On feeding off each other...
"If you see the bench after someone makes a big shot, they all jump up. It brings you confidence because you feel like somebody is supporting you. I feel like that is what our problem was in the beginning of the season. Now that we are for each other we have a great feeling together."

On Chris Denson and KT Harrell creating plays for him...
"It is beautiful. Having a player like that to create for you is great, and being a three point player that is the only thing you want. We appreciate them. It is a part of their game. It compliments my game too, so it is a good thing."

Freshman Center Matthew Atewe
On defensive rebounding...
"In the first half, we did a bad job of rebounding. In the locker room at halftime, Coach Barbee challenged us to rebound so in the second half, we did a much better job in that regard."

On the team having confidence...
"I think having everyone back has a lot to do with it. With all of us together, we are like one big family. When one guy is gone, it is a big issue, but with everyone back, I think it is a big deal and it has shown in the last three games."
