Auburn assistant strength and conditioning coach Michael Shumaker will hold a strength and conditioning camp for youth in fifth through ninth grades on Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Plainsman Park weight room. Registration is $125 and the camp runs from 9am-4pm.
This strength and conditioning camp is designed to teach young athletes correct lifting techniques (power lifts, Olympic lifts, auxiliary lifts), plyometrics, nutrition and sprint/agility mechanics. Each athlete will be tested on their jumping ability and sprinting at the beginning of the camp and this information will be put on a player development card that they will receive at the end of camp to try and help them set their individual goals.
Each camper will receive and individual and group instruction from certified Auburn University strength and conditioning coaches, a player information card, a sample workout plan and nutrition information.
This camp is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each camper must turn in the required paperwork in order to participate in any camp activities. This paperwork includes signed waivers by parents/legal guardians, proof of insurance and medical releases.
For a complete registration form, including the required paperwork, please email Michael Shumaker at email@example.com.
