    Friday's Home Run Derby Participant List Set; Orange-Blue Scrimmage To Follow Derby

    AUBURN, Ala. - The celebrity participant list has been finalized for Friday night's Fifth Annual Orange and Blue Scrimmage and Celebrity Home Run Derby, set to start at 6pm at Plainsman Park.

    Heading back to Plainsman Park are former players Colter Bean (1997-00), Todd Faulkner (1998-01), Bobby Huddleston (2000-03), Seven Register (2002-04) and Levale Speigner (2000-03). Of the five, Bean (New York Yankees), Register (Colorado Rockies) and Speigner (Washington Nationals) have all played in the big leagues while both Huddleston and Faulkner played in the minors following their Auburn careers.

    Joining the celebrities in the home run derby will be current Auburn players, tentatively set as sophomore Brian Fletcher, senior Ryan Jenkins, sophomore Kevin Patterson and junior Joseph Sanders.

    Entrance into Friday night's festivities is a minimum $1 donation at the gate, which opens at 5pm. All ticket revenue will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Lee County.

    Following the Home Run Derby there will be an Orange and Blue Scrimmage where fans will be eligible to win Auburn Baseball Under Armour gear and one of two baseballs autographed by the baseball staff.

    Bobby Huddleston: Was a catcher at Auburn from 2000-2003 after transferring to Auburn from the University of Tennessee. Bobby was named a Freshman All-American in 2000. Bobby was also named to the All-SEC Team in 2002 and 2003 as well as the SEC All-Tournament Team in 2003. Following the 2003 season, Huddleston was drafted in the 23rd round by the Detroit Tigers. Bobby currently resides in Auburn and works for SunTrust Mortgage. Bobby Huddleston is one of the sponsors of tonight's event.

     

     

    Colter Bean: Was a pitcher for the Tigers from 1997-2000. Colter was named to the All-SEC Team following the 2000 season. Following his career at Auburn, Colter spent time in the big leagues with the New York Yankees. He also spent some time in the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox organizations. Bean is now with the Tampa Bay Rays organization where he finished this year with their AA affiliate, Montgomery Biscuits. In the off season, Colter resides in Birmingham, AL.

    Steven Register: Was a pitcher for Auburn from 2002-2004. Steven was named to the All-SEC Team in 2003 and 2004. Steven was named as an All-American in 2003. Also in 2003, Steven became the 4th Auburn Tiger in history to compete as a part of the USA National Team. "Reggie" was drafted in 2004 by the Colorado Rockies in the 3rd round. He made his Major league debut this past August with the Rockies and finished the 2008 season with the big league club. Steven resides in Auburn in the off season.

    Levale Speigner: Was a pitcher at Auburn from 2000-2003. Levale holds the Auburn record for most innings pitched by any Auburn pitcher in history in NCAA Regional games with 27.1. Levale led the Auburn pitching staff in wins in 2001 and in 2003 when he completed his senior year with a 10-0 record. Levale was drafted in the 14th round of the 2003 MLB draft by the Minnesota Twins. He made is Major League debut with the Washington Nationals in 2007. Speigner returned to the Nationals Big League club this year where he completed the 2008 season. Levale resides in Auburn in the off-season

    Todd Faulkner: Was a first-baseman at Auburn from 1998-2001 after transferring to Auburn from the University of Texas. Todd was named to the All-SEC team following the 1998 and 2000 seasons, and was named a consensus All-American in 2000. Todd was also named to the Academic All-SEC Team in 1999 and 2000. Faulkner ranks first as Auburn's all time single season HR record holder with 22 home runs in 2000, and 2nd on the all-time career record list with 50 HR in his career. "Faulk" was drafted by the New York Yankees following the 2001 season. Todd currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
