Keegan Thompson named to SEC All-Freshman Team

AUBURN, Ala. - Auburn freshman pitcher Keegan Thompson was named to the Southeastern Conference All-Freshman Team as the SEC released its yearly baseball honors Tuesday.

Thompson, a freshman from Cullman, Ala., was one of the Tigers' most consistent starters on the mound, making 12 starts and putting together a 5-3 record with a 2.01 earned run average in 89.2 innings pitched. The right-hander led the team with 73 strikeouts while walking just 23 opposing hitters, and he held opponents to a .192 batting average.

Offensively, he made 33 starts between first base and designated hitter, batting .244 with 13 RBIs.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players. The full list of SEC honors follows.
