Auburn is 16-36 all-time against South Carolina ... Auburn is 2-2 against South Carolina at the SEC Tournament, last facing each other last year in an elimination game on Thursday, which Auburn won, 3-1, in 12 innings.

AUBURN VS. VANDERBILT AT HOOVER
Auburn is 78-40 against Vanderbilt since 1949 after being swept at Plainsman Park, April 1-3, this season ... Auburn is 2-3 against Vanderbilt at the SEC Tournament, last facing each other in the first round of the 2003 tournament, a 3-1 Auburn win as Auburn went 2-2 that year.

AUBURN VS. GEORGIA AT HOOVER
Auburn is 101-81 against Georgia since 1949 after winning the series at Plainsman Park, May 6-8, of this season ... Auburn is 2-3 all-time against Georgia at the SEC Tournament, last facing each other in the first round of the 2001 tournament, an 8-4 setback as Auburn went 0-2 that year.

AUBURN IN THE SEC THE LAST TWO YEARS
Auburn's 34 SEC wins over the last two seasons are the most over a two-year period for the program since it won 35 in 1999 (18) and 2000 (17), coach Hal Baird's final two seasons at Auburn ... The only other time Auburn has won 34-or-more SEC games in back-to-back years was in 1998 (16) and 1999 (18).

CASEY AT THE BAT
Casey McElroy brings a 13-game hitting streak into the SEC tournament, hitting .463 (25-for-54) since May 1 to raise his average from .341 at the end of April to .370 on May 21 ... In total, McElroy has reached base safely in 52 out of 56 games this season and has a .427 on base percentage, ranking in the top 10 in eight offensive categories in the SEC (Batting Avg. - .370 - 5th; Slugging Pct. - .555 - 6th; Hits - 84 - 1st; RBI - 52 - 5th; Doubles - 18 - T7th; Home Runs - 8 - T8th; Total Bases - 126 - 4th; Sac Flies - 6 - T3rd).

TONY THE TIGER
Tony Caldwell is closing the regular season on a hot streak, hitting safely 12 of the last 13 games (May 1-21) and raising his average from .295 to .328 in that span (21-for-51, .412, 14 RBI, nine runs) ... His .443 on-base percentage for the season is ninth in the SEC.

AUBURN VS. NUMBER 1s
Auburn will be playing the No. 1 team in the country on Wednesday when it faces South Carolina ... This will be Auburn's fourth game against the top-ranked team this season after facing then-No. 1 Vanderbilt April 1-3 at Plainsman Park, falling in all three games.

CAUGHT BY CALDWELL
Tony Caldwell established a new Auburn record for most runners thrown out attempting to steal a base when he nailed a Tennessee base stealer in the first inning on Thursday, May 19, the 58th caught stealing by of his career ... He finished the weekend throwing out a pair of Tennessee runners and now has 59 for his career, surpassing All-American Casey Dunn's mark of 57 set from 1996-99 ... Dunne started 191 games behind the plate while Caldwell has started 132.

CALDWELL A BENCH SEMIFINALIST
Tony Caldwell was named one of 13 semifinalists for the Coleman Company Johnny Bench Award as the nation's top collegiate catcher ... Hitting .328 with 12 doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 42 RBI, he has also been a major stopper behind the plate, throwing out 23 runners while only being charged for three passed balls on the season ... Of the 13 semifinalists, Caldwell's 23 caught stealing by is the second most to Jake Lowery of James Madison's 31 but the 51 percent success rate by opponents is the best of the 13 candidates.

THERE'S ANOTHER SINGLE FOR HARGETT
Justin Hargett's third-inning single on Friday night against Georgia (May 6) was the 178th of his career, tying him with Todd Faulkner (1998-01) for 10th on the Auburn career singles list ... The senior from Hartselle, Ala., now has 188 for his career and needs two more to tie Rob Macrory (1994-97) and Rock Wilson (1984-87) for eighth on the list with 190 ... Hargett has also had 72 multi-hit games in his career and would break into the career top 10 in that category with five more mult-hit games, of which he has had 15 this year.
