AUBURN, Ala. - Sophomore outfielder Ben Jones was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District (IV) Second Team, it was announced on Thursday.

Jones, from Decatur, Ala., has a 3.90 GPA while following the pre-engineering track in the classroom. On the field he has been Auburn's top pinch-hitter and a key defensive replacement in the outfield late in games. Entering this weekend's series with No. 1 Vanderbilt he has a .283 batting average in 33 games (10 starts).

Jones was one of just five SEC players to be named to either the first- or second-team in all of the districts combined joining Andrew Albers of Kentucky (Second Team, District IV), Alex Feinberg of Vanderbilt (First Team, District IV), Trent Kline from South Carolina (First Team, District III) and Emeel Salem (First Team, District IV).
