Minor League Baseball Season Began on Thursday With 16 Former Tigers On Rosters

Auburn, Ala. - The 2008 minor league baseball season began on Thursday with 16 former Auburn baseball players on rosters throughout the country. Three former Tigers are playing in Triple-A and three are in Double-A to while six former Tigers began the season on MLB Rosters.

Tug Hulett (2002-04), Justin Christian (2001) and Steven Register (2002-04) all had their seasons start on Thursday with the opening of the Triple-A schedule. Hulett is playing for the Tacoma Rainiers in the Seattle Mariners' organization, Christian is with the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Yankees and Register is with the Colorado Springs Sky Sox (Colorado).

Assigned to Double-A teams to start this season is Levale Speigner (2000-03) with the Harrisburg Senators (Washington), Javon Moran (2001-03) with the Reading Phillies and Michael Nix (2004-05) with the Mississippi Braves.
