Tigers Head To Tuscaloosa For Three-Game Series With No. 23 Alabama

Complete Release in PDF Format The Auburn baseball team will travel across the state to rival Alabama for a three-game series against the No. 23 Crimson Tide. Game times for the series are 6pm on Friday, 4pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday. Friday's game will air live on CSS and ESPN360.com. Auburn is 17-8, 4-2 SEC and in a three-way tie for second in the SEC West with Arkansas and Ole Miss and a five-way tie for third in the overall standings while Alabama is 17-7, 2-4 SEC, tied for eighth with Mississippi State in the overall standings. Auburn defeated Alabama, 8-6, in the Capital City Classic on Wednesday, March 24 and has won four of the last five meetings between the two, winning the series in Auburn last year. "This is an important series for both of our clubs," Auburn Head Coach John Pawlowski said. "Alabama is a veteran team. They are a team that has been there before. They have been in SEC Tournament, they have played in the postseason and they have a lot of experience on their side." Auburn will send So. LHP Cory Luckie (1-1, 8.84) to the mound on Friday and Jr. LHP Cole Nelson (4-1, 3.12) to the hill on Saturday. Alabama will counter with So. LHP Adam Morgan (3-0, 3.55) on Friday and Jr. RHP Jimmy Nelson (4-0, 1.78) on Saturday. Neither team has announced a starting pitcher for Sunday. Auburn comes into the weekend as the top hitting team in the SEC with a .344 batting average, led by Jr. OF Brian Fletcher's .398 and Jr. IF Hunter Morris' .396.
